Giant Swallowtail caterpillar with one osmeterium hanging out

I am fairly new at raising butterflies, last year I successfully raised 35 giant swallowtails. My first GS caterpillar seemed fine until today, I noticed it has one osmeterium that did not retract, otherwise it seems normal. Has anyone ever seen this before, do I have a problem?

Just to update on the Giant Swallowtail caterpillar, after two day his osmeterium just went back in?? He seems fine and should be ready to become a chrysalis by tomorrow! He is one BIG caterpillar. :)
